OTTAWA, March 25, 2018 /CNW/ - At a Monday morning news conference, pension experts working with Local 2424 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will share details of the complaint filed on Friday with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) regarding the Carleton University pension plan. They will also outline its implications for both the university and for plan members.
Members of CUPE 2424 – administrative, technical and library staff at Carleton University – have been on strike since March 5 to defend their right to a secure retirement income.
This latest development regarding the university pension plan is also a cause for concern for other unions at Carleton, whose members also belong to the plan. Representatives of those local unions will also attend the news conference.
