MEDIA ADVISORY - Montreal launch of World Bank Study Calling for
Liberalization of Air Services in Africa
Open Skies for Africa calls on States to Implement Yamoussoukro Decision
MONTREAL, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - Media are invited to a presentation & discussion on the new World Bank study, "Open Skies for Africa - Implementing the Yamoussoukro Decision". The study calls on African countries to put into practice commitments they have made to open their air service markets to foreign operators, with liberalized tariffs, fair competition and compliance with ICAO safety standards and practices. Open Skies for Africa - Implementing the Yamoussoukro Decision presents evidence that liberalization would improve safety in African airspace, while also encouraging social and economic development by facilitating increased trade and tourism.
