Media Advisory - Montreal to Host the World's Largest Design Summit

MONTREAL, Sept. 24, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Sheila Copps, PC, OC, Chair of the World Design Summit Organization (WDSO), is pleased to invite media representatives to the announcement of the first World Design Summit - Montreal 2017, on Monday, September 28^th, 2015, at 9:30 am, in Montreal.

Montreal, UNESCO City of Design, will host a world premiere event in 2017: the World Design Summit - Montreal 2017. This major event will allow Montreal, Quebec and Canada to further enhance its international leadership role within the design, business and sustainable development sectors. The Summit will bring together six disciplines: architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design, industrial design, interior design and urban planning in October 2017 for a week long event which includes, a summit, congress, exposition and design festival.

This announcement will be attended by the Quebec Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and the fight against climate change, Mr. David Heurtel, Ontario Minister of the Environment and Action on Climate Change, Mr. Glen Murray, and Montreal Executive Committee member, Mrs. Manon Gauthier, responsible for Montreal's culture, heritage, design space, and the status of women, as well as international associations of design and Summit sectoral committees representatives.
