Media Advisory - Muslim business leaders create $1M fund for Veteran families in partnership with True Patriot Love Foundation

TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2014 /CNW/ - In response to the tragic event in Ottawa that shook our nation, two prominent Muslim Canadian business leaders are partnering with the True Patriot Love Foundation to create the Salaam-TPL Fund. This special fund has the goal to raise $1M in support of the needs of Canadian Veterans and military families.

Mohamad Fakih (CEO, Paramount Fine Foods) and Kashif Khan (CEO, The K. Khan Group) are launching the fund by donating $100K, and are challenging other Muslim business leaders to help support the $1M goal.

"Salaam" means peace in Arabic and is the traditional greeting for Muslims. In this spirit, the partnership will provide the Muslim community with a channel to demonstrate their pride and support for Canada's Veterans and military families.
