Media Advisory - MUZIK, LiUNA, the Toronto Police Service and Z103.5FM Announce the Record-Breaking Results of The 7th Annual MUZIK Food Drive, February 11
TORONTO, Feb. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - It was the gift that kept on giving during MUZIK's 7th Annual MUZIK Food Drive. The initiative, which kicked off last Thanksgiving, had MUZIKpatrons, employees, and celebrity guests donate of non-perishable food items in support of the campaign. This year's goal is 30 tonnes, which is enough to provide 3,700 people in our community with a week's worth of food. Over 115 to 140 tonnes of non-perishable food items have been donated since the inception of the food drive in 2007.
"This year, all of the food banks are struggling to reach their own goals and are operating at a major shortage," said Zlatko Starkovski, President of MUZIK. "Our team has also experienced the same challenge. It's been tough. We are pushing hard to be able to make the announcement of 30 tonnes raised this Wednesday."
