MEDIA ADVISORY - Myford Touch class action commenced in Canada
TORONTO, Sept. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - The law firm Siskinds LLP has launched a class action regarding the infotainment system MyFord Touch and the similar system, MyLincoln Touch.
MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch are the voice or touch screen infotainment systems in Ford and Lincoln vehicles that control the entertainment, climate, navigation, hands-free calling and back up camera, among other features.
The Statement of Claim alleges that despite being aware that MyFord Touch was replete with problems and often did not work as promised, Ford failed to disclose to its customers that important safety features such as the back-up camera and hands free calling may be unavailable due to persistent system malfunctions. Further, it is alleged that Ford failed to disclose that due to problems with MyFord Touch, navigation and other features may not work as promised, causing driving distractions and loss to individuals who paid more for a Ford with the MyFord Touch infotainment system.
Canadians who have purchased a vehicle with MyFord Touch or MyLincoln Touch are encouraged to visit www.classaction.ca/Ford, email [email protected] or call 1-800-461-6166 ext. 4221 for English enquiries or ext. 2409 for French enquiries.
