THUNDER BAY, ON, April 24, 2013 /CNW/ - CEP and CAW members will attend one of 14 regional joint meetings tomorrow as part of the formation of a new Canadian union. Members from Northern Ontario will hear from the two unions' leadership about the latest progress on the new union's constitution, organizing and communications.
The founding convention of the new union is set to take place on Labour Day weekend in Toronto.
CEP and CAW representatives will be available for comment at the close of the joint meeting.

The Canadian Auto Workers Union (CAW) and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) are moving forward to create Canada's largest private sector union uniting over 300,000 members. The new union will represent workers in more than 20 sectors of Canada's economy.
