QUEBEC, May 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Media representatives are invited to attend activities to commemorate the Canadian mission in Afghanistan on Friday, May 9, 2014.
When: Friday, May 9, at 1 pm.
Where: St-Jean and Montreal Garrisons, CFB Valcartier and CFB Bagotville.
What: On Friday, May 9, 2014, Canadians will be commemorating the Canadian Armed Forces' commitment in Afghanistan. The National Day of Honour will feature a parade followed by two minutes of silence to honour the valour, strength and sacrifices of the over 40,000 members of the Canadian Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan over the past 12 years and who helped to combat terrorism, stabilize Afghanistan and rebuild the country's capacity to provide its own security.
