Media Advisory - New Psychological Health and Safety Standard for the Paramedic Community - A Canadian First Français

OTTAWA, April 24, 2018 /CNW/ - The Paramedic Association of Canada (PAC) in partnership with the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada (PCC), the Canadian Standards Association (operating as CSA Group) and the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) will launch a new standard for psychological health and safety for paramedic service organizations - the first of its kind in Canada. The Honourable Kevin Daniel Flynn, Ontario Minister of Labour will officially announce the release of the standard, which was funded by the province's Occupational Health, Safety and Prevention Innovation Program. The new standard reflects the importance of improving Ontario's occupational health and safety system by using a more efficient, effective, coordinated and integrated approach for the prevention of psychological health issues and to improve the well-being of paramedic workers.
