ST. ANDREWS, NB, May 31, 2017 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Salmon Federation will release its annual State of the Populations report on Thursday, June 1st. A press conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Wild Salmon Nature Centre in Chamcook, New Brunswick.

The 2017 State of the Populations report compiles the latest data on North American Atlantic salmon populations and harvest volumes for Canada, Greenland, and St-Pierre et Miquelon.
Based on ASF's analysis of the information, there is concern the number of large salmon returning to North American rivers may dip in 2017.
President and CEO Bill Taylor will make a short presentation and take questions in English. ASF Quebec program director Charles Cusson will be available by telephone for French inquiries.
