Media advisory - News conference on cuts to environment and fisheries programs
WHITEHORSE, Feb. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - The Public Service Alliance of Canada is hosting a news conference to protest cuts to environment and fisheries programs. John Gordon, the National President of the Public Service Alliance of Canada will be in Whitehorse to launch a video on the Conservative government's absurd plan to sacrifice our long term prosperity in favour of a misguided austerity agenda. Also at the news conference will be Lorraine Rousseau, Chair of PSAC's Whitehorse Regional Women's Committee, Linda Moen, President of PSAC's Environment Local and others. The speakers will also examine the harm that the Harper austerity agenda will have on Northern communities and women across Canada.
The video, which is being launched as part of the Third Choice campaign, will be screened at the news conference and will be available at www.thirdchoice.ca.
