MEDIA ADVISORY - NEXT VALCARTIER CONTINGENT IN AFGHANISTAN - FAMILY GATHERING

VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Oct. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to a day of activities bringing together close to 1 500 soldiers and their family on October 16, 2010:

When:	Saturday October 16, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to twelve noon
Where:	Valcartier Vacation Village, 1860, Valcartier Boul. (www.valcartier.com)

This get-together aims at showing gratitude to military families for the numerous sacrifices they offered during troop training, as well as the efforts that they will provide during the deployment of their loved one in Afghanistan. A Barbecue, as well as games and activities for all ages are scheduled.

Let's recall that a little more than 1 900 Valcartier soldiers will gradually deploy to Kandahar, Afghanistan, starting in November 2010. During approximately seven months, troops will pursue efforts provided by their predecessors aiming at making the country safer.
