Media Advisory - North American Energy Leaders Meet in Calgary for Strategic Energy Dialogue
OTTAWA, June 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Business leaders and government officials from across North America's energy sector will converge for the Energy Council of Canada's 2014 Canadian Energy Summit and the World Energy Council North America Region Energy Forum.
Organized as back-to-back conferences, these events bring together decision-makers, policy influencers and energy industry leaders from Canada, the United States and Mexico to address a broad range of issues that touch upon all sectors making up North America's Energy Industry.
The theme for this year's Summit and Forum, Transformations Across the Energy Sector: Past, Present, Future, will focus on advancing the energy dialogue in North America, and address a wide range of topics, including:
- latest developments in energy infrastructure
- new technologies and evolving market practices in the electricity sector
- updates on the race to develop LNG exports
- latest developments in oil and gas and electricity markets
- best practises to achieve "social licence" in energy infrastructure developments
- Mexico's strategic decision to reform its oil and gas and electricity sectors
The Honourable Diana McQueen, Minister of Energy, Government of Alberta, will open the Canadian Energy Summit on June 24 with a welcome address at the opening reception.

- The Honourable Rich Coleman, British Columbia Deputy Premier; Minister of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas, Government of British Columbia
