Media advisory - Nursing: A leading force for change - National Nursing Week is Monday, May 6, to Sunday, May 12, 2013 Français
OTTAWA, May 3, 2013 /CNW/ - The largest group of health-care professionals is in the spotlight next week. May 6-12, 2013, is National Nursing Week, culminating with International Nurses Day and Florence Nightingale's birthday on Sunday.
"For this year's National Nursing Week theme, the Canadian Nurses Association chose, Nursing: A Leading Force for Change," said CNA president Barb Mildon. "Nurses lead change by building trusted relationships with patients and families. Nurses lead change by empowering patients to take control of their health and well-being. Nurses lead change because they are the connection between patients and the care they need. Nurses work with people and partner with them for best health." Click here for audio quote.
Provincial and territorial nursing colleges or associations and many individual employers are marking the week with events. See a full list of CNA's provincial and territorial members and their contact information.
