Media Advisory - Official opening of new waterfront landmark
TORONTO, June 27, 2013 /CNW/ - On July 1, Waterfront Toronto and Harbourfront Centre with the Government of Canada, will officially open Canada Square, a new landmark in the heart of Toronto's central waterfront. Designed by renowned landscape architects Michael Van Valkenburgh and Associates, Canada Square has transformed an asphalt parking lot into a vibrant new public space in the heart of Toronto's waterfront.
The celebration and official opening is part of Harbourfront Centre's Canada Day Weekend Celebrations (June 28-July 1). Close to a hundred thousand people are expected to attend the four-day festival featuring musical performances, a waterfront fireworks display on Canada Eve (June 30) presented by OLG and activities throughout the day at Harbourfront Centre.
