TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2015 /CNW/ - The Ontario Human Rights Commission, along with the Regional Diversity Roundtable of Peel and the United Way of Peel Region, will host Taking it Local, a one-day training event covering a broad range of current human rights issues. An estimated 200 guests will learn more about:
- Identifying and overcoming racism and racial discrimination
- Human rights essentials
- Human rights and creed
- Preventing sexual and gender-based harassment
- And many more human rights issues.
A highlight of the day will be the launch of By the Numbers: A statistical profile of people with mental health and addiction disabilities in Ontario. There is very little data available about the experiences of Ontarians with mental health disabilities and addictions, and this report will help fill some of these gaps.
