TORONTO, April 13 /CNW/ - Today more than ever, high-quality audits are a crucial part of the process that ensures the integrity of financial reporting. Brian Hunt is the CEO of the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), the regulator that oversees the auditors of Canadian public companies. Mr. Hunt will release the results of CPAB's 2009 inspections, including its recommendations on what audit firms, management and audit committees should do to improve the quality and transparency of financial statements. He will also talk about the importance of maintaining audit quality during the economic slowdown and in the face of several other challenges that have the potential to negatively affect audit quality in Canada.
