Vicki McKenna marks Nursing Week with local RNs
PETERBOROUGH, ON, May 12, 2016 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) First Vice-President Vicki McKenna, RN, will visit ONA members at Peterborough Regional Health Centre later today as part of National Nursing Week celebrations.
McKenna will drop in on ONA members working for PRHC Thursday afternoon to focus on celebrating the skilled care that the nurses provide. She is available by phone for media interviews.
Among the issues facing registered nurses in Ontario are ongoing cuts that have totaled 1,440 in just 17 months.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
