Media Advisory - ONA President in Hamilton Tomorrow: Celebrates Nursing Week
with local nurses

HAMILTON, ON, May 6 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN will be in Hamilton tomorrow to hold an early Nursing Week luncheon celebration.

Haslam-Stroud will greet nurses from St. Joseph's Hospital and join them for a Nursing Week luncheon at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel at noon on May 7. Though Nursing Week doesn't officially commence until May 10, Haslam-Stroud will travel the province both during the week leading up to Nursing Week and for several days following it.

ONA's theme for Nursing Week 2010 is "Celebrate our Nurses: The Heart of Health Care" and her visit is intended to do that. Despite large nursing cuts across the province, this is a week to celebrate the skills and professionalism our nurses bring to health care. Haslam-Stroud is available for interviews before and event the event.

ONA is the union representing 55,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 12,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
