Media Advisory - ONA President in Oakville, Burlington Tomorrow
BURLINGTON, ON, May 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN will visit nurses in Burlington tomorrow for a Nursing Week 2013 luncheon and later, a celebratory dinner.
Haslam-Stroud will join the nurses and ONA Vice-President Dianne Leclair at the Regional Municipality of Halton for a visit with RNs and a lunch in the auditorium beginning at 11:30 am. She is available for comment to the media.
Later, Haslam-Stroud will join nurses from ONA Local 71, Joseph Brant Hospital at a Nursing Week dinner.
Nursing Week is held each year to coincide with the birthday of nurse Florence Nightingale. ONA has chosen the theme "Value the Invaluable" for Nursing Week 2013. ONA is reminding both members and the public to recognize that dollar for dollar, nurses are the best value in health care today.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 front-line RNs and allied health professionals and more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, industry and clinics.
