MEDIA ADVISORY - ONA President to Visit Nurses in Toronto: Linda Haslam-Stroud to celebrate Nursing Week at Gala Dinner with Local members
TORONTO, May 11, 2017 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN will join members from Local 95 for a Nursing Week dinner in Toronto tonight.
The theme of Nursing Week 2017 is "We are Ontario's Nurses. Nurses Know." Across Ontario, ONA's registered nurses, nurse practitioners and registered practical nurses will mark the birthday of the world's most famous nurse, Florence Nightingale and pause to celebrate the skills, education, critical thinking and knowledge they bring to patient care.
Nurses know that their education, skills, passion and dedication are vital to providing the quality care patients need and deserve. While the profession faces a number of challenges, May 8 to 14 is about celebrating the profession. Nursing Week is celebrated worldwide.
ONA is the union representing 64,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 16,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
