Media Advisory - One Hundred and Seventy-Two Students to Receive a Bursary from the Merit Award
TORONTO, May 31, 2018 /CNW/ - Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend the Annual Merit Award ceremony. Recognizing 172 bursary recipients, the ceremony will be held on June 5, 2018 in Toronto.
The Merit Award is a grassroots organization, started in 1996 by a group of Toronto residents who felt it was important to support and encourage high school students to stay in school. Merit works closely with 65 schools in Toronto who help identify eligible students, who at a minimum have demonstrated a commitment to school work, extracurricular school activities and volunteering in the community.
Fasken is a proud supporter of the Merit Award Bursary Program. The goal is to help give students the positive recognition they deserve, build their self-esteem and provide the support and encouragement they need to continue their education.
