Media Advisory - Ontario Nurses' Association Members Join Port Elgin Labour Day Parade and Activities
PORT ELGIN, ON, Sept. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) members and their families will join in the 2013 Port Elgin Labour Day celebrations tomorrow.
ONA members from Local 4 - comprised of registered nurses and allied health professionals working in all sectors of health care - will participate. This year's theme is "Together Fairness Works."
ONA members from Port Elgin, Toronto, Barrie and other locations will also be taking part in their local events.
The Port Elgin Labour Day Parade begins at 11 am at the Home Hardware and continues to Maple Square on Goderich Street. A Community Barbeque will be held behind the Queen's Hotel at noon to 1:30. The barbeque will also feature speakers and prizes.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates. ONA members provide care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care, community care, public health, industry and clinics.
