Media Advisory - Ontario Nurses' Association Members Join Windsor Labour Day Parade and Activities
WINDSOR, ON, Sept. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) members and their families will join in the 2013 Windsor Labour Day celebrations tomorrow.
ONA members from Local 8 - comprised of registered nurses and allied health professionals working in all sectors of health care - will participate. This year's theme is "Together Fairness Works."
ONA members from Port Elgin, Toronto, Barrie and other locations will also be taking part in their local events.
The Windsor event begins at 10 am; the Labour Day parade will marshall at 9 am at the CAW Local 200/444 union hall and end at the Fogolar Furlan Club. Following the parade, children's games and entertainment and free food and refreshments are available at the Windsor and District Labour Council-sponsored event.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates. ONA members provide care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care, community care, public health, industry and clinics.
