Media advisory - Ontario Nurses' Association President in Brockville: Linda Haslam-Stroud available to media as she discusses nurse transfers with local members
BROCKVILLE, ON, May 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN, is in Brockville today to meet with nurses and discuss the transfer of services from the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital.
Haslam-Stroud is visiting with ONA members at three of the sites of Brockville General Hospital. During her visit, she will discuss many of the issues facing nurses as well as encourage members to become more active in the work of their union.
She will visit the Garden Street site until 11 am, then lunch with nurses at the main hospital site at noon. Her visit at the Mental Health site will begin at about 1:30 pm.
While the issues to be discussed are serious, Haslam-Stroud will wish members a belated Happy Nursing Week 2012. She will be available to speak to media.
ONA is the union representing 59,000 front-line RNs, RPNs and allied health professionals and more than 13,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, industry and clinics.
