Media Advisory - Ontario Nurses' Association President in Hamilton Today: Marks Nursing Week 2013 with St. Joseph's Healthcare nurses
HAMILTON, ON, May 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN will join St. Joseph's Healthcare nurses today in Hamilton to celebrate Nursing Week 2013.
Haslam-Stroud will be at the Courtyard Marriott hotel today from noon to 3 pm to visit and lunch with Local 75 members.
Nursing Week is held each year to coincide with the birthday of nurse Florence Nightingale. ONA has chosen the theme "Value the Invaluable" for Nursing Week 2013. ONA is reminding both members and the public to recognize that dollar for dollar, nurses are the best value in health care today.
Haslam-Stroud, a St. Joseph's Healthcare renal transplant nurse, is available to speak to the media.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 front-line RNs and allied health professionals and more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, industry and clinics.
