Media Advisory - Ontario Nurses' Association President in Ottawa Tomorrow: Marks Nursing Week 2013 with local members
OTTAWA, May 5, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN will visit nurses at three Ottawa health care facilities tomorrow to mark Nursing Week 2013.
Haslam-Stroud will join the nurses and ONA Vice-President Anne Clark at the Queensway Carleton Hospital at 9:30 am on Monday, May 6, visit Bruyere Continuing Care from 2:00 to 4:30 pm and The Ottawa Hospital from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.
Nursing Week is held each year to coincide with the birthday of nurse Florence Nightingale. ONA has chosen the theme "Value the Invaluable" for Nursing Week 2013. ONA is reminding both members and the public to recognize that dollar for dollar, nurses are the best value in health care today.
Ottawa nurses have recently seen RN position cuts. Haslam-Stroud is available to speak to the media.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 front-line RNs and allied health professionals and more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, industry and clinics.
