Media Advisory - Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner is reaching out to Ontario
TORONTO, April 29, 2015 /CNW/ - Ontario's new Information and Privacy Commissioner, Brian Beamish, will be visiting the Niagara Region as part of the renewed and refreshed Reaching Out to Ontario program. The Commissioner will present at Brock University on the latest trends and challenges in access and privacy, followed by two panel sessions. One panel will discuss the changing nature of access to government-held information and the evolution to a more transparent and accountable government. A second concurrent panel will examine the many challenges of protecting personal health information in electronic environments. The event is free of charge and both the public and those in the public sector are encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity to be part of the discussion about how we can build a better province where our privacy is protected and governments remain accountable.
