A Unique Opportunity to Experience More Than 100 Boats
MONTREAL, Sept. 6, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Marine Association invites media representatives to visit the In-Water Boat Show which will be held September 7th to 9th at the Old Port of Montreal. During the event the public will have a privileged access to the basin Jacques-Cartier. It will be a unique opportunity for the visitors to admire and try over 100 models of boats, including large luxury yachts and to meet many nautical exhibitors.
The Show, with an annual attendance of 12,000 visitors offers:
- more than 100 boats on display offering a free demo ride;
- large luxury yachts of 72, 60 end 45 feet - which is a rare treat at Quebec shows;
- a revolutionary high-tech navigation simulator. It is now possible to complete complex navigation maneuvers in a snap (like dock a boat using a simple joystick and electronic control systems - all of this without taking into account the wind and current.

Let's remember that nautical activities in Quebec represent an economic impact of $5.8 billion, 25% of which comes from tourism activities. According to a recent statistical abstract conducted by the National Marine Manufacturer's Association (NMMA) with data obtained by Statistics Canada and Transport Canada, approximately 10.5 million Canadian adults went boating last year (38% of the population). This represents an increase of 4 million since 2006. In Quebec, 40% of adults went boating in 2011, which translates to nearly 2.6 million boaters.
