Media Advisory - Opening of the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show, the largest nautical event in Quebec with more than 30 000 visitors Français
MONTREAL, Feb. 6, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Marine Association invites media representatives to visit the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show which will be held February 7th to 10th at Place Bonaventure. This event is the largest of its kind in Quebec with more than 400 boats, 275 exhibitors (10% more than in previous years) and an average of 30 000 visitors. The 2013 Show has been diversified in order to fully satisfy all water sport, boat, fishing and nature lovers.
Damian Foxall, one of the world's top offshore sailors
One of the world's top sailors, Damian Foxall, will be a lecturer at the Show. This world-renowned sailor, an Irish native who now lives in Quebec, has been circumnavigating the globe nine times as fast as humanly possible. He won four world-tour races including the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012.

The 2013 Show will also present racing boats from the Regate de Valleyfield, all the latest in technology and water sports, an exhibit on Quebec's world class nautical destinations and an exhibition on the evolution of navigation.
According to a 2011 statistical abstract conducted by the National Marine Manufacturer's Association, approximately 10.5 million Canadian (38%) and 2.6 million Quebec adults (40%) are active in nautical activities.

February 7th to 10th (Thursday, Friday - 11am to 9pm; Saturday - 10am to 8pm and Sunday - 10am to 6pm). The media is invited at any time to visit the Show. A period of visitation is also available before the opening of the exhibition on Thursday, February 7th at 10h30 am.
