Media Advisory - OPSEU tells attendees at Liberal AGM - corporate tax cuts
won't create jobs!
TORONTO, Oct. 15 /CNW/ - OPSEU members are holding a street theatre event from 6 pm. to 8 pm. on October 15 outside the Ontario Liberal Annual General Meeting at the Sheraton Centre Toronto.
Watch out for the corporate vampires and take part in a vigil for public services as OPSEU asks: What would you do with $2.4 billion?
On July 1, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty brought in the first of four big cuts to the Corporate Income Tax rate. Before long these cuts will drain the provincial treasury of $2.4 billion a year. That is money that will not be available to spend on health care, childcare, colleges and universities or transit.
"The time is now to send a strong message to Dalton McGuinty that his unfair wage freeze is just plain wrong," said OPSEU President, Warren (Smokey) Thomas.
