TORONTO, Aug. 31 /CNW/ - Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) members are staging an information picket at the Lionhead Golf and Country Club in Brampton on Wednesday, September 1st.
MPPs Kathleen Wynn and Deb Matthews are co-chairing this $500-entry golf tournament fundraiser for the Liberal Party. OPSEU members will be meeting participants with a protest against the government's attack on public sector wage cuts, chronic under-funding of public services and corporate tax giveaways.
Date: | Wednesday, September 1st |
Time: | 6:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. |
Location: | Lionhead Golf and Country Club 8525 Mississauga Road Brampton, ON |
This is the fourteenth protest held by OPSEU at Liberal Party fundraisers across Ontario since the release of the 2010 Provincial Budget.
Donations will be accepted for the Mississauga Food Bank. While contributions will go towards feeding the 17% of Mississauga residents who live in poverty, this fundraising effort serves to highlight the cuts being made to important public services.
