Media Advisory - OSC Dialogue 2016: Exploring disruptive forces in the capital markets
TORONTO, June 23, 2016 /CNW/ - The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) announced today a preliminary list of speakers for Dialogue 2016, the OSC's annual conference, which brings together hundreds of market participants to discuss issues and trends facing the capital markets.
OSC Dialogue 2016 will focus on disruptive forces in the capital markets and what they mean for market participants, investors and regulators.
"Disruption in payments, products, distribution and consumer behaviour is impacting investors while also creating opportunities to improve fairness, efficiency and growth in the market," said Maureen Jensen, Chair and CEO of the OSC. "We look forward to bringing together thought leaders in digital finance and the capital markets to advance the dialogue in this important area and ensure regulation remains current."
The list of preliminary speakers (currently in order of appearance) includes:
- Blythe Masters (CEO, Digital Asset Holdings)
- David Rutter (CEO, R3)
- Anthony Di Iorio (Chief Digital Officer, TMX Group and Co-Founder, Ethereum)
- Randy Cass (Founder and CEO, Nest Wealth)
- Christine Duhaime (Executive Director, Digital Finance Institute)
- Mary Jo White (Chair, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission)
- Rick Ketchum (Chairman and CEO, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority)
- John Ruffolo (CEO, OMERS Ventures)
- Adam Nanjee (Head of Financial Technology, MaRS)
OSC Dialogue 2016 takes place on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Toronto Board of Trade, 77 Adelaide St W, Toronto.
Registration will open in September 2016, and more speakers will be announced by the OSC in the coming weeks.
