Media Advisory - Osler Contest seeks out Best Student App in 48 hours
Hospital to challenge students to come up with mobile app to improve patient experience
BRAMPTON, ON, Nov. 13, 2014 /CNW/ - This weekend, William Osler Health System (Osler) will play host to teams of students vying for $10,000 and the honour of developing an app that will help the thousands of people who visit and are treated at Osler's Brampton Civic and Etobicoke General Hospital sites.
Osler's second annual national student app contest will attract teams of high school, undergrad and post-graduate students in an exciting 'hackathon' style event. The teams will be given 48 hours to develop an innovative Android mobile app that will improve the patient experience at Osler hospitals.
The winner of this year's contest will be selected and announced in mid-December, after Osler's judging panel has reviewed and evaluated the apps. The prize money for this year's contest has been generously donated by Fieldpoint, a software and service management provider located in Oakville, Ontario.
