Media Advisory - Photo and Interview Opportunities - News Conference - Joint Police Investigation Halts Northern Drug Traffickers Français
TIMMINS, ON, May 20, 2016 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to join members of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 as they outline the results of a major drug trafficking investigation.
NAPS Chief Terry ARMSTRONG and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Deputy Commissioner Rick BARNUM will be joined by Nishnawbe-Aski Nation leaders, Timmins Police Chief John GAUTHIER, senior OPP command staff and senior NAPS command staff. They will provide details and comment on the criminals trafficking of potentially-lethal prescription drugs and illegal narcotics to communities in northeastern Ontario, including those in vulnerable Aboriginal populations. A sampling of evidence gathered during this investigation will also be displayed.
One-on-one interviews will be available following the formal media conference.
