Why:	CAF-FCA Executive Director and Mandy Rennehan will officially launch the Supporting Women in Trades Conference by meeting with women enrolled in a skilled trades program at Nova Scotia Community College to discuss a path forward for more women to enter apprenticeships and careers in the skilled trades. Photo opportunities and interviews are available.

About the Supporting Women in Trades Conference

In partnership with the Government of Nova Scotia and others, CAF-FCA will host more than 350 delegates at the sold-out, two-day event being held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront on November 6 & 7^th, 2018. The agenda showcases promising practices and great initiatives underway across Canada to attract, prepare, up-skill and support women in the skilled trades. According to the 2015 National Apprenticeship Survey, women make up only 13% of apprentices, and in non-traditional trades that number is well-below 5%.
