MEDIA ADVISORY - Photo-Op: Volunteers sorting Holiday Drive food donations
TORONTO, Dec. 24 /CNW/ -
WHAT: |
Holiday Drive Public Food Sort Hundreds of volunteers will be sorting through stacks of food donations instead of shopping mall sales next Monday and Tuesday. Families, community groups, youth groups and individuals have registered, some weeks in advance, to spend their last days of vacation helping get the food out to Torontonians who need it most. We are very close to our Holiday Drive goals of $1 million and 1 million pounds of food but we're not there quite yet. With your help, we can reach those goals by January 3rd. Note: Daily Bread is fully booked for public sorting. No volunteers are required. Daily Bread Food Bank will be closed on December 25th and 26th. |

Daily Bread Food Bank is an independent, non-profit, charitable organization that is fighting to end hunger in our communities. As Canada's largest food bank, Daily Bread serves people through neighbourhood food banks and meal programs in over 170 member agencies across Toronto. We know feeding hungry people wont solve poverty; that's why Daily Bread does more. We work to support people by providing job training; researching and educating people on issues of poverty and moving forward with innovative and realistic solutions that will help people break away from poverty.
