Media advisory - Photo Opportunity: Members of Parliament in lifejackets to support water safety and swimming
OTTAWA, May 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Every year the Canadian Red Cross celebrates National Lifejacket Day on the Thursday before the first long weekend of summer to raise awareness around the effectiveness of lifejackets in drowning prevention and promote lifejacket use and swimming.
This year we are inviting Members of Parliament to join with us in wearing a lifejacket to promote this important awareness campaign to keep Canadians safe.
