Media Advisory - Photo/Interview Opportunity - Open Streets TO 2015 Kickoff
TORONTO, Aug. 14, 2015 /CNW/ - Join event organizers, participants, and community leaders at Open Streets TO 2015.
Open Streets TO, inspired by a world-class program proven to improve healthy behaviour, will be taking place again on August 16 and September 6, 2015. The program provides access to 5km of free recreation space (on parts of Bloor and Yonge), and focuses attention on the importance of physical activity. In 2014, more than 45,000 Torontonians attended over two days.

Yonge and Bloor will be the site of a Sportplay demo, a program for kids that helps them develop athletic skills. The Waterfront Singing Ambassadors will also be performing a 20-minute set of a cappella renditions of classic summer hits at 11:00 a.m.
Additional activities will include:
- Yonge and Wellesley: yoga, road hockey, art installation
- Bloor and Parliament: flashmob dance, mobile health clinic, Rangoli street painting
- Royal Conservatory of Music: musical performances, Play-Me piano, music class demos
- Matt Cohen Parkette (Bloor and Spadina): low-carbon street games, bike demonstration
