VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Sept. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the death of Private Jonathan Couturier , members of media are invited to a press briefing from Colonel Jean-Marc Lanthier, Commander 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG) on the Valcartier Garrison on September 17, 2009 , at 6:15 p.m.

Private Jonathan Couturier died on September 17, 2009 , due to the explosion of an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan . Born in Loretteville, in the Quebec City region, Private Couturier joined the Canadian Forces on March 29, 2006 . At the age of 23, Jonathan was a member of 2 Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment based in Valcartier. Dispatched on his first tour, he left for Afghanistan in April 2009 with 2 Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment Battle Group.
