Media Advisory - Press Conference - Launch of Acne and Rosacea Society of Canada offers hope and help to 8 million sufferers in Canada
VANCOUVER, Sept. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - The Acne and Rosacea Society of Canada will hold a press conference on Wednesday September 10, 2014, to announce the launch of this new, national, not for profit society led by Canadian dermatologists, offering hope and help to more than 8 million Canadians affected by these common conditions.
The society will also kick-off its acne awareness campaign, Acne Action, featuring a new educational website, www.AcneAction.ca, with independent, reputable, in-depth information on acne.
The society will issue a challenge to Canadians to forget old misguided beliefs about acne, Change the way we think about acne and take action.
Some acne stats:
- Acne affects 90% of teens and is their # 1 skin health concern.
- Up to 1 in 5 women suffer from adult acne
- The rate of depression in acne patients is high at 10%
- Virtually every case of acne can be successfully treated.
