Media Advisory - Press conference - Teen Moms Speak out over Funding Crisis
at Toronto Centre
QUEEN'S PARK, ON, April 27 /CNW/ - Young mothers, pregnant teens, and counselors from the Massey Centre for Women will be holding a press conference to call on the Ministry of Children and Youth Services to address a critical funding deficit at the Toronto residence for at-risk new moms.
The Massey Centre provides young women with stability and security as they make the transition into motherhood, plus training and education as they return to the workforce and pursue careers. But a chronic funding shortfall has become a crisis. The centre is unable to meet its labour obligations and service has been disrupted.
The women will be joined by business and community leaders from Toronto and East York as they call for full funding for the centre.
What: Press conference on funding crisis at Massey Centre for Women. When: Wednesday, April 27, 2010 Time: 10:00 am Where: Queen's Park Media Studio
