Media Advisory - Press conference March 20th to introduce Team Canada women ahead of 2014 world championship in Toronto
TORONTO, March 20, 2014 /CNW/ - Three months out from the largest female world championship in history Wheelchair Basketball Canada will hold a press conference at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto on March 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. ET to introduce members of the media to the Canadian Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team.
Team Canada, along with Australia, Japan, and the Netherlands are in town to train at the Mattamy Athletic Centre March 18-21st in preparation for the upcoming World Championship that will take place at the same venue June 20-28th. The four teams will practice on court daily and participate in a series of friendly games in the evenings that are open to the public. Canada, who is in pursuit of a record setting seventh consecutive podium performance, will be one of twelve teams competing in June for the title of World Champion.

Over 400 athletes, coaches, officials, delegates, and volunteers will attend the 2014 WWWBC that features 12 participating countries. Canadians can catch a sneak peek at the top 12 female wheelchair basketball players in Canada, including emerging local talent and highly decorated stars, preparing to compete in one of the most fiercely competitive and exciting spectator sports to be played at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
