Media Advisory - Prof. Jack Mintz to Brief US Congress on State of US Corporate Taxes - Will Deliver Hard Message About US Uncompetitiveness and the Wrong-Headedness of Pres. Obama's Overseas Tax Proposals
CALGARY, Feb. 2, 2015 /CNW/ - This week, Canada's premier tax and economics expert, Prof. Jack Mintz, Director of The School of Public Policy, will appear at an event in Washington, DC to speak to members of Congress, aides and others about the state of U.S. corporate taxes. At this event he will release an annual ranking of tax competitiveness that will show that the US is at the bottom of the pack internationally and is dire need for tax reform to make the U.S. more internationally competitive, and more attractive to foreign investment. Mintz will also have a strong warning about proposals recently floated by President Obama to tax U.S. corporations overseas.
The report will also show that Canada, despite doing much better than the U.S. in terms of international competitiveness, is slipping internationally.
The address and release of report will occur at the Rayburn House Office Building, Room B-318, 50 Independence Ave. SW, Washington, DC from noon to 1:15 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday February 4th.
Note to media that Prof. Mintz is available at various times on February 4th and 5th for either on site interviews, or in studio. Please use the contacts below to coordinate.
