Media Advisory - Provincial Highlights of the 2012 Student Assessment Results in Reading, Writing and Mathematics to be Released by EQAO

TORONTO, Aug. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - At 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will release the provincial highlights of student achievement on the 2011-2012 Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary Division (Grades 1-3) and Junior Division (Grades 4-6), and the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics. The highlights will be available on EQAO's Web site, www.eqao.com.

Also available on the Web site will be test booklets, answer keys and samples of written student responses at each performance level. These resources will allow the public to see the types of fundamental skills being assessed.

On September 12, EQAO will release individual school and board reports along with two full provincial reports. The provincial reports are an elementary school report, on the results of the primary- and junior-division assessments, and a secondary school report, on the results of the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics and the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test.

Schools and boards will have their results under embargo until 10:00 a.m. on September 12, after which they will be able to speak to the public about their results.
