Conference to highlight positive contribution of workers
TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Hundreds of public service workers from a diverse array of equity groups will gather in Toronto from November 18-22 for PSAC's National equity conference, "Equity groups all are all affected."
The conference will provide an opportunity for delegates to share their experiences and mobilize against government attacks on public services, collective bargaining, health and safety, and human rights.
The gathering will also provide delegates with a voice to highlight the positive contribution they as public service workers- specifically from equity groups - have made to Canadian society.
Featured speakers include Olivia Chow, Mary Walsh and Boucar Diouf.
Delegates attending the conference work in a wide array of jobs that help Canadians including key roles at Correctional Services, Veterans Affairs, National Defence, Passport Canada, Canada Pension Centre, CFIA, CBSA, Statistics Canada and many more.
