Media Advisory - Public Invitation to Ottawa's First Living Well Cancer Care & Prevention Show on Sunday, September 21st
Living Well Show will showcase new ways to invest in health and well-being
OTTAWA, Sept. 18, 2014 /CNW/ - The Living Well Cancer Care and Prevention Show will be the first time the cancer care community comes together under one roof: The Ottawa Hospital, cancer associations, integrative medicine clinics, and local businesses will showcase their products and services for the Ottawa community.
On Sunday, September 21st, the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) will be the host of Ottawa's first Living Well Show at the RA Centre, 2451 Riverside Drive, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The day will feature 40 exhibitors from the Ottawa community, as well as expert speakers on the latest research and hot topics from The Ottawa Hospital, Prevent Cancer Now, Progressive Nutritional Therapies, The Green Beaver Company, and the OICC.
The Living Well Show will also feature free mini health assessments and healthy lifestyle demonstrations including nutrition, exercise and yoga. Art therapy workshops with Jennifer's Flying Colours will be held for adults and kids. Local cancer survivors and book authors Linda Morin (The Courage to Look Beyond), Tamara Levine (But Hope is Longer) and Shelagh Needham (All in the Same Boat) will be signing books. Special guests at 12:00 pm include Aboriginal Elder Annie Smith St. Georges, followed by Ottawa's infamous Babes4Breasts singers (Lynne Hanson and Jill Zmud) performing live.
The Living Well Show is a public event. Everyone is invited to attend; to learn and experience all the Ottawa community has to offer those seeking help for prevention or cancer care.
Tickets are $10 at the door or can be purchased in advance online at www.oicc.ca/livingwell . Parking at the RA Centre is free. Proceeds from the Living Well Show will go to subsidized programs and care for patients of the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre.
