Media Advisory - QCGN to launch most up-to-date, detailed portrait of Quebec's English-speaking seniors Français
MONTREAL, Oct. 3, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Community Groups Network, in collaboration with Seniors Action Quebec, invites you to the release of "Moving Forward - Building research capacity related to Quebec's English speaking seniors". The report, which marks the culmination of a three-year, participatory action research project, provides the most up-to-date and detailed portrait of English-speaking seniors in Quebec. The project, which was supported by the Quebec English-Speaking Communities Research Network (QUESCREN) at Concordia University, was funded by the Soutien aux initiatives visant le respect des aînés (SIRA) program of the Provincial Ministère de la Famille et des Aînés.

The launch will include presentations of statistical data from the 2011 Canadian Census and the 2010 provincial CHSSN/CROP Survey of Community Vitality, as well as the findings from our own project survey which was carried out from August to December of 2013 in eight selected regions of Quebec. The morning's presentations will be followed by a lunch and community discussion of the research findings.
The Quebec Community Groups Network (www.qcgn.ca) is a not-for-profit organization bringing together 41 English-language community organizations across Quebec. Its mission is to identify, explore and address strategic issues affecting the development and vitality of English-speaking Quebec and to encourage dialogue and collaboration.
