On Thursday, June 16, 2016, the QEII Foundation will celebrate the opening this summer of a new therapeutic pool at the QEII Health Sciences Centre's Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre. This event will also include unveiling the name of the therapeutic pool, which is a result of a significant gift from a prominent family in the community. |

When the need arose to refurbish the therapeutic pool that was constructed in the 1970s, the QEII Foundation and rehabilitation staff joined together to launch the Revitalizing Rehab campaign. This campaign focused on bringing back the therapeutic pool, as well as constructing two activities of daily living suites, to improve recovery for the thousands of patients who visit the centre each year. |

Bill Bean, President and CEO, of the QEII Foundation will make the announcement. Other speakers include Randi Monroe, director of Rehabilitation and Supportive Care, Neuroscience and Rheumatology, QEII; Dr. Christine Short, division chief, Rehabilitation Medicine, QEII; former patient Michael Coady; and a member of the family who provided the lead gift to the campaign. |
