Following Court Ruling Criticizing His Ban

TORONTO, Oct 1 /CNW/ - On Sunday, October 2, British politician George Galloway will be finally coming to Canada and rabble.ca will be exclusively livestreaming his long-awaited talk. Galloway will appear at Trinity-St. Paul's United Church in Toronto (427 Bloor Street West) at 3 p.m., where he will speak about the fight to overturn his ban and the struggle to end war and occupation in Palestine, Afghanistan and around the world. 

"God willing and the willingness of the government to accept defeat I will see you on Saturday afternoon," said Galloway via videoconference from London, England.

A recent Federal Court ruling that strongly criticized the federal government for attempting to ban the former MP on a speaking tour in spring 2009 has paved the way for this visit. According to the ruling judge, Richard Mosley, "The main reason why the respondents [the federal government] sought to prevent Mr. Galloway from entering Canada was that they disagreed with his political views."
